most medical students receive less than 20 hours of nutrition education in their entire 4-year degree.
Training in the western biomedical model focuses on symptom analysis, diagnosis, and pharmaceutical treatment, often leaving root causes unaddressed and leading to a cycle of imbalances, side effects, and further prescriptions. This approach is akin to an ambulance at the bottom of a cliff, effective in emergencies but lacking preventive measures at the top to avoid falls altogether.
the western model of healthcare can be lifesaving, but it is also disadvantaged in many ways.
The prevailing healthcare system in the U.S. lacks the capacity to provide personalized care tailored to individual needs, as medical practices prioritize quantity over quality due to financial pressures. On average, primary care physicians spend a mere 13-24 minutes per patient, with most physicians seeing over 20 patients per day, resulting in limited availability and time for each individual.
the food system in the U.S. is broken and corrupted. our food is making us sicker than ever.
6 in 10 Americans live with a chronic disease. Policy, influenced by lobbying, prioritizes corporate interests. Profit-driven practices like factory farming and monocropping degrade biodiversity, soil quality, and nutrients. Brands exploit consumers with disease-causing additives, seed oils, and excessive sugar. Deceptive marketing adds to the confusion, leaving people lost.
In 2020, I went back to school and started working full-time towards my degree in Nutritional Sciences.
Once I saw the power of nourishment in my own life, I knew that I wanted to help others heal in this way. Burdened by the real yet preventable health struggles I witnessed in friends and family, I kept hearing a common theme in their stories — they felt defeated, overwhelmed by all the information, and unheard when they tried to get answers.
My studies have given me a deeper understanding of fundamental subjects such as anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and microbiology. Armed with my growing education and informed by timeless wisdom of the past, I take a balanced approach towards health topics, straddling the line between openness and skepticism.
I learned that SYMPTOMS ARE COMMUNICATION.
I’ve always loved solving mysteries (I wanted to be Nancy Drew when I was a kid) Our job is to interpret what our body is telling us, and learn how to address the root cause of imbalances in order to allow the body to heal as it was designed to. I’m SO excited to guide you on your health journey!

my philosophy
Science is the process of asking questions — as we observe the world, we gain a clearer understanding of how things work. However, we are not infallible. We are constantly discovering new things and must be open to changing our minds where necessary.
Scientific studies are important and helpful. Providing well-researched, reliable, and accurate information is a core value of mine, and I cite others’ work often. However, it is also important to remember that these things can be tricky. Research can be misinterpreted, manipulated, falsely portrayed, poorly executed. Just because a scientific study exists doesn’t mean its results are the undeniable truth. Headlines can be misleading. People can bend data to fit their opinion or agenda and argue, “See! It’s what the science says!”
This is why it’s important to approach everything with a common sense intuition. In my research, I ask, “Does this claim make sense based on what we understand about the body?” If it doesn’t, I’m skeptical. Either way, I keep digging.

I approach science with a Biblical worldview, which helps me to interpret topics and information with the belief that creation was designed by an intelligent Creator. He is a Creator who brings order out of chaos, who heals both body and soul, who leaves a mark on every aspect of nature.
The lack of a strictly materialist perspective, rather than confining the mind, expands it to be more open, more curious, more alive. This world is not all there is. A greater reality exists beyond the veil. We are more than just flesh and bone. We are spirit, and we are created for a purpose. It is my hope that, through reading and learning from the resources I create, you would feel encouraged, informed, and empowered on your health journey.
